go to the big three money headlines, stock surge, overdrive and superspenders, joining me is morgan brennan. let's talk about stocks surged yesterday. how much did they surge? will it continue? >> hopefully. analysts expect we'll see history repeat itself. some double-digit percentage increases this year. month of january, a very strong start. the dow up 6% and that is the best monthly gain that we've seen since 1994. s & p 500 up 5%, best monthly gain since 1997. nasdaq 4%. fingers crossed, may not have a long winter. hopefully a good stock market too. >> what about car sales? >> this goes back to the stock market. people are feeling pretty bullish about buying new vehicles, this month we saw in january i should say, 14% increase in vehicle sales, about a million cars were sold. i think the really interesting story here is actually we're seeing a big increase in pickup truck demand, very closely tied to construction. as we see more homes get beuilt we'll see more puickup trucks sold. >> what about the super bowl? will it bring in big money? >> about $12 million. national retail federation
